Affiliate Confession: How I made Money selling Honest Riches eBook?

Honest Riches the well known eBook written by the famous entrepreneur Holly Mann about 3 years ago is still making sales for Holly Mann and for her affiliates like me, the eBook was and still the best guide for beginners to start online business. I have never bought this eBook and never read it, not because it's a bad eBook the eBook and its author's honest and good reputation is very undeniable. Also the eBook was the best seller for two years and this is a great for any author to achieve. What I want to share here is that I have made money selling this eBook and many other products I didn't even bought, just by reviewing these products and promoting them.

Actually Honest Riches is just one of the products I promote and get commissions on making sales from. But I do the same for many other products and most of them I have never used before, so I use several points when I choose the right product.

• A good product must sell: and this depend on some aspects in the product that will make it sellable like: o Made a Buzz: The best products are the ones that made a big buzz, like my choice in this case Honest Riches made a big buzz in its time because it provided legit and scam free techniques of making money online unlike the original Rich Jerk eBook which provides some questionable techniques. o Well Known Author: This is big bonus because a product from a well known source or author will be guaranteed to be popular. o Updated Frequently: A good product is a continuous source of income, and to be like that the author have to provide updates when some of the information or techniques become obsolete or new techniques are found.

• A good price: This is important factor the price must be appropriate and affordable for the targeted audience and customers; otherwise it will lose many sales.
• What are people saying about that product? This is important because in the end the people who have used the product will decide whether it's good or bad.
• The right product at the right time: No product last forever and also it's a bad idea to select a product that will only sell for one or two months, Information products usually last for 2 - 4 years off course if they succeeded!
• A Product you like: By this I mean you need to select the right niche for yourself; one that you have passion for is far easier to promote and review than one you force yourself to learn.
• Products to Avoid: The products you promote will affect your image and reputation so choose them carefully, Some of the products to avoid are:

1. Products with very high competition: you will never be able to sell this product because its market is already saturated by other affiliates.
2. Unknown Products: This is a common mistake you say to yourself this product is relevant to my site and niche and just pick a random one, the result will be very low sales and maybe some refunds if the product quality was not good enough.

Writing your review is the second step after choosing the product. The review have to be honest and free from pitching and direct promotion, people on the internet are usually seeking advice not products so what you need to do is to give them a good reason to buy the product, and to tell them how buying that product will benefit them without directly speaking about the product. Also you will need to be yourself as much as you can. If you will ever make a good copy that can sell a product rest assured your success is due to being yourself and showing people that you are a human you have maybe syntax mistakes, maybe a specific style people can recognize that and will more likely trust it if they feel it's true and not fake.

The review you will write will need to be published somewhere so that visitors can read it and follow your affiliate link. So you have some options I will list below from best to worst:

• Your Own Website or Blog with your own domain name. There is no place like home, especially your own home so it has to be the best choice.
• A free Blog or Site, Blogger and WordPress can offer such free service you can have up to 5 blogs in blogger.com for free.
• Revenue Sharing Sites, like Hubpages and Squidoo this way you can make money from Adsense and Amazon.com too.
• An Article Site, like eZineArticles.com and you put your link in its resource box; however some of the sites don't allow affiliate links and require that the link goes to your own website.
• Forum Post, This can be very good if you have text only good and informative review that does not violate the policy of the forum.

Promoting your review is important and must be separate work from promoting your whole site and business, First you need to decide and plan where will your page get its traffic from. If you plan to depend on Search Engine you will certainly need to do SEO and Competition analysis to win on the Search Engine. This is not important if you will get your traffic from PPC but in this case you will need to make sure you convert enough so that when for example you spend one dollar you get two. Another source of traffic can be the same host site if it's an Article or revenue sharing site, if your content is good it will get traffic automatically, and you can improve that by submitting it to social bookmarking sites like digg and stumbleupon.

When I started the Internet Marketing Business I made no money for long time, the first 8 month I only spent money and got nothing in return, and some very successful internet marketers I know made money two years after they started, So if you are not getting any result from what you're doing, work harder and find out what you are missing, and remember the quote from Ross Perot,

"Most people give up just when they're about to achieve success. They quit on the one yard line. They give up at the last minute of the game, one foot from a winning touchdown."

You will never predict the time when you will make the sale, especially if you are new to this business, so all the advice I can give here is work hard and it will pay off, and whenever you make one sell from a good product rest assured that you are just one inch from doubling and tripling your sales rate. It's all about learning and doing the right things in the right time. After making a residual income from the internet you don't need to work for long time now, you will need to work 2 hours a day just to keep your ranking and monitor the traffic and conversion, and make sure everything is ok. And off course you will have the time to be with your family and the money you always dreamed off. Did I forget to mention that! Silly Me 
